For those already on low incomes, these challenges can be overwhelming - basic needs become harder to meet, and the sense of disconnection deepens.
Primary Projects exists to change that. We offer direct support to people doing it tough, whether it’s through:
Our programs don’t just meet material needs. We foster belonging, rebuild confidence and open up opportunities to volunteer, engage socially or take steps toward employment.
Take John’s story. After losing his job and then his home, he found himself isolated and unsure where to turn. He joined one of our weekly community lunches and quickly became a regular volunteer. “Primary Projects gave me more than a meal - they gave me purpose. I’ve got structure in my week again, and I’ve made mates for life.”
The impact is clear. In the past year alone, 87% of participants reported improved wellbeing and stronger social connection through our programs. Many go on to find work, return to study, or become long-term volunteers themselves.
