By becoming a member, you’re not just supporting Family Sanctuary - you’re ensuring that families in need receive the guidance and care they deserve.
These Terms and Conditions outline the rights, responsibilities, and expectations of individuals who become members of Family Sanctuary. By applying for and accepting membership, you agree to abide by the following terms:
1. Membership Eligibility
1.1 Membership is open to individuals who support the mission and values of Family Sanctuary and are committed to contributing to the governance and success of the organisation.
1.2 The organisation reserves the right to approve or decline membership applications based on eligibility criteria and alignment with our objectives.
1.3 Members must be at least 18 years of age unless otherwise specified.
2. Membership Rights & Responsibilities
2.1 Members are entitled to:
Attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and other member meetings.
Nominate or be nominated for governance roles (e.g., Board or committee positions) if eligible.
Receive regular updates and reports on the organisation’s activities.
Provide feedback and input into key decisions affecting Family Sanctuary.
2.2 Members agree to:
Act in the best interests of Family Sanctuary and uphold its mission and values.
Engage in governance activities in a respectful and constructive manner.
Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive or internal discussions.
Abide by the policies and code of conduct of Family Sanctuary.
3. Code of Conduct
3.1 Members are expected to conduct themselves with integrity, honesty, and respect in all interactions with other members, staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries.
3.2 Any form of discrimination, harassment, or misconduct will not be tolerated and may result in membership suspension or termination.
3.3 Members must avoid conflicts of interest and disclose any personal or professional interests that may affect their decision-making within the organisation.
4. Membership Approval
4.1 Membership will need to be confirmed by the Board.
4.2 In the event of a member who has registered is determined to not be eligible, the membership will be immediately retracted, unless otherwise stated.
5. Governance and Decision-Making
5.1 Members have the right to participate in governance discussions and decision-making processes, including voting at the AGM.
5.2 The Board of Directors retains the ultimate authority on strategic and operational matters but will engage members for input where appropriate.
6. Privacy & Data Protection
6.1 Personal information provided by members will be kept confidential and used only for organisational purposes in accordance with privacy laws.
6.2 Members consent to receiving communication from Family Sanctuary regarding governance updates, events, and activities.
7. Membership Termination
7.1 Membership may be terminated if a member:

8. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
8.1 These Terms and Conditions may be reviewed and updated periodically. Members will be notified of any significant changes.
By becoming a member of Family Sanctuary, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
9. Membership Fees (If Applicable)
9.1 Membership may be changed at anytime at the discretion of the Board.
9.2 Any membership fees paid are non-refundable, unless otherwise stated.
